3 Peaks 3 Weeks: For The People Of Africa
SESSION 6 (2-5:30pm)
USA, 2007, 52 min.
Director: Michael Brown
Producer: Dave D’Angelo
Ten women from Australia, U.K., and the U.S. (including a previous Flagstaff local) come together to attempt to climb three of Africa’s highest peaks in less than three weeks. The team takes on Mount Kenya (5,199m), Mount Meru (4,666m), and Mount Kilimanjaro (5,893m) – and comes to terms with its own limitations – in order to raise money and awareness for tree key issues affecting East Africa today: the environment, education, and HIV/AIDS.
IN PERSON: Laura Hartstone
Join us for a Q&A after the film screening with until recently, Flagstaff resident and one of the amazing 10 women climbers in the film.
